Create A Firefox Toolbar: Organize Your Links

Posted in How To... on Mar 05, 2009

My friend from the 90 Day Challenge, Allyn Goldstein of Florida, asked for a way to organize his links in a toolbar. Allyn, here’s how you create a Firefox toolbar with absolutely anything you need. Is this what you were looking for?

By the way, here’s the link to Conduit: www.conduit.com.

  1. Thanks a bunch…and how did u create this video to have this happen?

Well, it took a few steps. First, I went on twitter and asked my friend Bob Jenkins which program he uses for his IM Success Toolbar. Once I got his response, I went to conduit.com and went through the process of creating a toolbar. Next, I used Screenium on my Macbook PRO to record myself going through the process again. I uploaded the completed video to YouTube, and then used Traffic Geyser to create a skin for the video that would not take people away from my blog and into YouTube. I got the embed code from TG and placed it as HTML on the post.

Let me know if you want more information on any of those steps.

  3. Thanks Liane for the great video and information.

When you send out the links for prospects to check out your toolbar, do they have to download it and restart Firefox in order to use it?

    Just wondering,

    My pleasure :)

And yes, Firefox has to restart for the toolbar to load – so the person who wants to use your toolbar would click on the link to download it, approve the install (when Firefox asks if it’s okay), and then allow Firefox to restart.
