Do You Need a Note For Work? • 03.29.10
I am sitting in a clinic in NJ waiting to get a chest x-ray. I should have been out in San Francisco, waking up in my hotel room and getting ready for two awesome days helping my client SEO their new website…but what are you gonna do?
My mother and sister, currently in Israel for the holidays, called me and begged me to cancel my flight – as did my wife. And who wants to be around someone who’s coughing and wheezing, right?
To top things off, US Airways refused to issue a refund for my flight…that’s $800 down the drain
But all’s not bad, and believe it or not, I set off to write this post on a positive note.
For one thing, I’ll be able to still work with my client and her team remotely. Nowadays, all it takes is some webinar software and a teleconference line. Hey, I do webinars all the time anyway – and if you’re reading this post, chances are you’ve been on one.
But the best thing has nothing to do with work, or clients, or money, for that matter.
I’m feeling ickier than I’ve felt in years, but for the first time in my life, I was able to say “no” when the doctor asked me, “do you need a note for work?”
Actually, it kind of made me laugh.
